Hi People
It's the first entry of 2010. I've been thinking of what I should blog about. As I was looking at friends' blogs, I see that they are coping with their lives in the university or poly. Most of them are working hard and having fun at the same time. We all met new friends and some even made boyfriends. We are all moving on to the next phase of life. I'm really happy for them.
So what have I been doing for the past months in SIM? Let me do a short summary now.
Before school starts, we need to pay fees locally and to London. All these are quite complicated and I'm proud i managed to do most of it by myself with the help of my dearest sister in some parts. I met
Yingshuang at the
RELC building when i was paying fees. At that moment, I felt relieved as she is the only person whom I know that is going to SIM to study. Actually I asked some of my friends whether they're keen to study in SIM but all of them rejected my offer. Hence, when i saw
Ys I was very touched because at last there's someone there. Immediately, i looked for
Meizhen to get her phone number to keep in contact with her. I didn't get it form her because she was with her mum at
RELC. Although she's taking a different course as me, we're taking the same foundation units for the first year in school.
So we went to the enrolment talk and orientation together. I didn't want to go to the orientation but I didn't want to miss out the chance of knowing more people and maybe I could make a friend(s) of the
smae course. During
orientation, I didn't really get to interact with anyone other than
Ys .I think the main reason is because most of the people in our
OG already knew each other so everyone was talking amongst themselves. However, I noticed that 1 out of like 20 persons in my
OG was taking the same course as me. I waited for a suitable timing to get closer to her. When the day almost ended, I finally found a chance to talk to her and get her number. She is none other than
Yanting a.k.a. our Lao
Da. I achieved the objective of the day of knowing more people. Thank you
Ys for being there.
Then, came choosing our timetable.
Ys's course started choosing the timetable earlier than us. When it was my turn, I was desperately trying to choose the exact timetable as her. However,
some of the time slots are full and I can click in. So we ended up having only 1 common lecture together. I called Lao
Da to asked if she has
chosen her timetable. I guess I was really brave that time because I have never taken the initiative to speak to someone whom I just know. She told me she didn't know it was time to choose the timetable and I kinda forced her to choose the same timing because I didn't ask her whether she wanted to be in the same lectures as me. Okay, back to the point. So she tried to choose the same timetable as me but she didn't get 1 class. The class is Sociology 12-3pm on
fridays. Alright, at least we managed to get the same classes for 4 days. I was quite worried that she will find me weird.
Finally, school started. On the first lecture,
Ys and Lao
Da were there and
Ys found out that an
og mate(
Jian Liang) was in the same lecture as us. We sat together through the lecture. After lecture started for a few minutes, I saw a familiar face frantically trying to find a seat and she sat beside a guy which I don't know.
I talked to myself :"Oh, that girl. It the girl from our
OG. Her name is
Xiao Hui. She's the brave girl who went up to play dodge pillow for our
OG."
I told Lao
Da that she's from our
OG but Lao
Da kinda ignored me. I don't think she had a good first impression of
XH. But I was thinking I should ask her if she wants to sit together for the next lecture. So 2 days later I saw
XH at the bus stop going to school. I approached her and took the initiative again(I seriously think sec sch and
jc had trained me to be less
passive) to asked
herwhat lecture she's having. She told me that she having maths lecture too. Then, she explained that she doesn't know that guy who was sitting beside her on the 1st lecture and she would be glad to sit with us. I also found out what's her timetable and told her we could sit
togather. So for the past 6 months,
Ys, Lao
Da,
XH and I have been enjoying the company of one another. Lao
Da also got along with
XH and changed her 1st impression of her. =)
Anyway, I have also made friends who are not from
OG during the sociology class on
Fridays. They are
Verlyn and Jenny. For the first few lessons I was sitting alone until one day Jenny came and sat beside. I took the initiative again to ask her what's her name and intro
myslef!!! Then we had a project to do and we got to know
Verlyn who also has been sitting alone for the past
few weeks. Since then we have been attending sociology classes together. =) =)
For the past 6 months, I have been attending lectures and trying to understand intro to
econs, intro to biz and management, principle of sociology, maths and statistics.
Econs is very different from A
lvl. We need to use the model to answer all questions and we're not required to write essays. Sociology and IBM are new subjects. Statistics with no Graphic Calculator is tough! Maths is similar to A
lvl. We had lecture tests once in a while to check on our understanding. Mock exams are coming soon in March and now we're all revising.

Can you believe it? We are in 2010 and 2010 sounds like a distant future to me. I will continue to love my family and friends. Hope you guys are working hard and enjoying your life too. We are all growing old! I don't wanna mention what age I will be because it is so intimidating and it is a sensitive issue!
